What Do We Teach

The MonteMinds Approach

Our highly professional teaching staff participate in professional development throughout the year to always bring new ideas and teaching approaches to the classroom to suit each individual child. Our very nurturing and supportive educators continually strive to provide a welcoming, calm and happy environment for the children to learn, explore their prepared environment, and reach their full potential.

Math

The Mathematical Mind is exact, orderly, precise and logical! Even though humans created a language for mathematics, most people find it difficult to understand as it is introduced to children in the abstract form. MonteMinds creates materials that a child can manipulate to understand the mathematical language better and comprehend it initially in concrete form. These materials allow the child to manipulate the quantities and foster repetition to comprehend the abstract form and the symbol. This approach allows the child to understand abstract concepts with a concrete understanding fully.

Science

The MonteMinds approach to teaching Science engages children through hands-on experimentation, discovery, and an interdisciplinary focus. Students can interact directly with scientific concepts using tactile tools and real-world exploration, deepening their understanding of the natural world. The MonteMinds method fosters curiosity and critical thinking, allowing children to explore topics like biology, physics, and chemistry. By connecting Science with other subjects like Geography and History, students develop a holistic view of how the world works. MonteMinds encourages a love for learning and equips children with the problem-solving skills needed for lifelong success in Science and beyond.

English & French

When children are exposed to language, they are introduced to phonetic sounds of the alphabet verbally and later introduced to symbols with sandpaper letters. Once the child retains a series of letters, they are introduced to the Large Moveable Alphabet, which, through repetition, begins to build and decode words spontaneously. During that time, teachers will observe, assess, and evaluate the child’s progress and enhance their language skills using a specific language curriculum to develop their reading, writing, and comprehension skills.

History & Geography

The MonteMinds approach to teaching Geography and History enhances children's learning through hands-on materials, self-paced exploration, and interdisciplinary education. Using tactile tools like puzzle maps and historical timelines, students grasp complex concepts more easily. MonteMinds fosters a deep understanding of how Geography and History are interconnected, encouraging critical thinking and global awareness. Children learn through hands-on projects, allowing them to explore topics of interest in depth. At the same time, the curriculum integrates cultural respect and environmental awareness, preparing them to be informed global citizens. Discover how MonteMinds nurtures curiosity and critical thinking for lifelong learning success.
